Lights, Camera, Action: Yash’s ‘Toxic’ Journey Officially Begins
Kannada superstar Yash has officially begun work on his highly anticipated project, “Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups”. The actor marked the occasion by sharing a cryptic image from the first day of shooting on his social media platforms, accompanied by the simple yet intriguing caption: “The journey begins #Toxic.”
Under the direction of acclaimed filmmaker Geetu Mohandas, “Toxic” promises to be a gritty action thriller set against the backdrop of the drug underworld. The film, slated for release on April 10, 2025, is a joint production between Venkat K Narayana’s KVN Productions and Yash’s own banner, Monster Mind Creations.
In preparation for this new role, Yash has undergone a striking physical transformation. Celebrity hairstylist Alex Vijaykanth recently unveiled the actor’s edgy new look, featuring a custom pompadour that’s a far cry from Yash’s previously iconic long locks. Vijaykanth described the style as “shorter, edgier and intense,” perfectly embodying the character Yash is set to portray in “Toxic”.
Before diving into the shoot, Yash took a moment for spiritual reflection. Accompanied by his wife Radhika Pandit and their children, the actor visited several revered temples in Karnataka, including the Shri Sadashiva Rudra Surya Temple, Shri Manjunatheshwara Temple in Dharmastala, and Kukke Subramanya Temple in Subramanya.
The inception of “Toxic” was first revealed to fans in December 2023, when Yash shared a cryptic post quoting the 13th-century poet Rumi: “What you seek is seeking you.” This enigmatic announcement, coupled with the film’s intriguing tagline “A Fairy Tale for Grown-ups,” has sparked widespread curiosity and anticipation among movie enthusiasts.
As cameras begin to roll on “Toxic,” fans and industry watchers alike are eager to see how Yash will bring this adult fairy tale to life on the big screen. With its unique premise, star power, and promising creative team, “Toxic” is shaping up to be one of the most talked-about Indian films of 2025.
